Around 18:30 District 6 was alerted for a dwelling fire on the 1500 block of Center St. Squad 613 was preparing for their drill for the evening and responded within one minute with a crew of 6, as well as 6101 (Chief Golle). Ladder 626 responded shortly after, as well as 6201(Chief Ferriola). Gloucester County communications gave the report to responding units that a grill caught the back of the house on fire. Squad 613 arrived first due and contained the fire to the grill and checked for extension to the rest of the house. 6201 established command and requested that BLS-20 respond at emergent speed due to a civilian burn victim. 626’s crew assisted 613’s crew with extinguishing the fire, checking for extension as well as ventilation.
Ladder 666 and 632 were released on scene and covered the town from their stations until the incident was cleared.
The incident is under investigation by the WDFMO. The burn victim refused transport. One fire member was transported for a minor head injury and has since been released.
