About The
Thorofare Volunteer Fire Company

We are an all volunteer organization established in 1910 to provide fire protection to the community. Through the last century our role has evolved and expanded.  We now provide marine rescue, confined space rescue, industrial rescue and industrial firefighting in addition to basic structural firefighting and extrication services.

We work closely with the three other township companies and West Deptford EMS to provide an integrated response to types of emergencies in West Deptford Township. When necessary, we use mutual aid plans to call upon other area emergency service providers to bolster our response. Thorofare Volunteer Co. No. 1 was formed and continues to exist for the sole purpose of serving the community. We plan and train diligently to be ready to address and safely resolve any emergency that might face our community.
